The summer leg of David Bowie’s 1974 Diamond Dogs tour would be the waning days of the glam rock angle that had rocketed the artist to widespread fame. In the fall of that year the tour would resume after a late summer hiatus, retooled to favor the soul sounds Bowie had started integrating more prevalently into his new recordings (1975’s Young Americans). Here then is an interesting inter-period listen to a vital, mercurial artist sloughing one skin and donning another.

A couple of tracks are cut off at the beginning or end, but that wasn’t my doing. I snagged this from dimeadozen.org (and consequently I’m probably pissing off someone for having down-converted the files).
